The book of Psalms Number 4

The book of Psalms

 Number

4

¹. Answer me when I call, O God of my right! You gave me room when I was in distress. Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer.

(Book of Psalms Psalm Number 4 verse 1)

For all of us who feel lonely rest assured that You my, God and Father will break down the barriers of our misery and stress and answer our prayers. Even though we may feel alone, unsure if we have made the right decision, nonetheless God is with us and will guide us through the storms and the twisters of our life Amen. Thank You Jesus Amen.

². How long, you people, shall my honor suffer shame? How long will you love vain words, and seek after lies? ³ But know that the LORD has set apart the faithful for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him.

(Book of Psalms Psalm Number 4 verses 2 to 3)

Oh God, I thank You for putting up with our attitudes and character, for we are not always aware of what we do and say. Many times we say we love You, but on the other hand, we hold old grudges for our neighbour or those of our inner circles. There are great disparities in what we do and say.  I pray oh God my Father that You have mercy on us and please do not hold it against us when we verbally accuse You of our shortcomings for we are weak. I thank You for always listening and answering my prayers my God and Father Amen. Blessed be Your Name forever and ever.

⁴. When you are disturbed, do not sin; ponder it on your beds, and be silent.

(Book of Psalms Psalm Number 4 verse 4)

Oh God, my Father when I am angry I often say many things in order to vent my anger, however, it would have been better for me to seek You in silence and solitude and share my chalice of bitterness with You Amen.

⁵. Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the  LORD.  There are many who say, "O that we might see some good! Let the light of your face shine on us, O LORD! ⁷ You have put gladness in my heart more than when their grain and wine abound. ⁸ I will both lie down and sleep in peace; for you alone, O LORD, make me lie down in safety.

(Book of Psalms Psalm Number 4 verses 5 to 8)

Oh God, my Father I feel confused and stressed for although I am placing my full trust in You, my soul is still troubled and I cannot rest in peace. You know the stress I am experiencing I pray that You intervene soon before I get hurt, or hurt somebody as a consequence. As You know yesterday I was so unfocused that I ended up staring into the windscreen of my vehicle as if staring into space. For a second I was not even aware that the car was moving had it not been the wiper that caught my attention in order to save me from crashing into the car in front of me. I pray that You intervene soon my God and Father, so that both my body and my soul may find its rest Amen.

I would like to end this chapter with the following prayer:

Answer me when I call, O God of my right! You gave me support when I was in distress. Be gracious to me, and hear my prayer. Please intervene while there is still chance Amen.

Thank You Jesus

The book of Psalms Number 3

The book of Psalms

 Number 3

1. O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me; 2. many are saying to me, "There is no help for you in God."

(Book of Psalms Number 3 verses 1 to 2)

Oh God my Father this is the attitude of the world, when stress starts escalating and one has exhausted all one's cards, the only option is to give up. When all the tests have been done and the doctor has confirmed that we have been diagnosed with a terminal illness there is no other option left but to live day by day until the end comes.

However, this is not the attitude of the Christian, for we believe in a God who is able to reverse the causes of all illness. We believe in a God of life who promotes life, whose life on earth was one battle against the death of the body and the death of the soul. God will never abandon us, therefore let us place our trust in Him Amen.

3. But you, O LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. 4. I cry aloud to the LORD and he answers me from his holy hill. 5. I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the LORD sustains me. 6. I am not afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.

(Book of Psalms Number 3 verses 3 to 6)

Oh God my Father You watch over me every second of my life. Night and day You care for me. You are always available to listen to my prayers and will never put me on the waiting list or switch on the answering machine to receive my call. You are everywhere I go and knows what is going on in my life up to the smallest detail. Everywhere I go I carry with me my pocket version of the New Testament and I open at random and You always give me a trustworthy message Amen.

7. Rise up, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked.  8. Deliverance belongs to the LORD; may your blessing be on your people!

(Book of Psalms Number 3 verses 7 to 8)

Oh God my Father protect me for I am harassed from all sides. My mind is in conflict with my body. I end up doing things that I do not want to do. My feelings come into conflict with my physical urges and I end up torn apart, both physically and mentally. Moreover, my spirit in unity with Your spirit that dwells in me plays the role of the referee and fights both mind and body in order to keep me in balance. I thank You my God, and Father for keeping and protecting me Amen.

Oh God my Father I would like to end this post with the following prayer.

Oh God my Father, God of all Gods Lord of all Lords, Father of all Fathers, I praise your Holy and mighty name. I thank You for protecting me at all times. May You never lift your eyes of me for I am a weak person who cannot live without You. May You protect me under Your wing like a hen who covers her chickens with her wings Amen.

The book of Psalms Number 2

The book of Psalms

No. 2

1. Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? 2. The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and his anointed saying, 3. "Let us burst their bonds asunder, and cast their cords from us."

(Book of Psalms No. 2 verses 1 to 3)

Oh God my Father when head of states conspire together to plot form against each other's subjects it is as if they are plotting against You. When rules are passed to increase taxes to suit their needs and put unnecessary pressure on the people this is also plotting against You. I therefore during this time of prayer pray for the leaders of the world:-

Oh God my Father, I pray for all the leaders of the world, so that they be clean in the way that they use their authority that has been given to them by yourself, even if they are not aware of this. Please give them the wisdom of Solomon to make the right decisions, a huge dose of Your love and mercy so that they will be merciful when applying and making new laws, and may they always consider even the spiritual and moral consequences of the legislation that is both discussed and enforced Amen.

3. He who sits in the heavens laughs; the LORD has them in derision. 5. Then he will speak to them in his wrath, and terrify them in his fury, saying, 6. "I have set my king on Zion, my holy hill."

(Book of Psalms Psalm Number 2 verses 3 to 6)

Oh God my Father I imagine Your attitude when You hear us make plans that You know they will never bear fruit because You are not included in them, and how sorry You must feel when we do not include You in our lives and daily agendas Amen.

7. I will tell of the decree of the LORD; He said to me, "You are my son; today I have begotten you. 8. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession.

(Book of Psalms Number 2 verses 7 to 8)

Oh God my Father as much as we refer to You with our prayers many times in request for this and for that, You would like to receive our prayers from the heart in a spirit of faith and not one of avarice in order to fulfil our needs, and wants. However, when offering our prayers to You my God and Father You always consider all our needs and always provide for us more than we could ever ask of You Amen because You see the big picture and we are limited in our perception. Thank You for being so kind loving and considerate Amen.

9. You shall break them with a rod of iron, and dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel" 10. Now therefore, O kings be wise: be warned, O rulers of the earth. 11. serve the LORD with fear, with trembling 12. kiss his feet," or he will be angry, and you will perish in the way; for his wrath is quickly kindled. Happy are all who take refuge in him.

(Book of Psalms Number 2 verses 9 to 12)

Oh God my Father, even though there are among Your sons and daughters who consider themselves of being of much power or even super power, they are to be humble and keep in mind that their power and authority is subject to You and that they and their power are not supreme. If You had to just say the world, their power and their city with all its power will dissolve like sugar in a cup of tea.

Oh God my Father, I would like to end this chapter with the following prayer:-

Oh God my Father, You know all our ways and are aware of both our strong points and our weak points. You know how proud we are and how much we need to become humble in our ways. Even though at times we make plans that are not according to Your will You break them and make them totally unsuccessful for our own good Amen.

The book of Psalms Number 1

The book

of

 Psalms

                                    No. 1

Book 1 Psalm 1

1. Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; 2. but their delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law they meditate day and night.

(Book of Psalms Psalm 1 verses 1 to 2)

Indeed oh God my Father, there is no greater pleasure than to follow Your ways. The ways of the world give us momentary pleasure, however Your ways gives us pleasure that lasts forever. I find no greater pleasure oh God my Father than to meditate every day on the Bible which is Your Word. It nourishes my souls, and shows me how to live according to Your will Amen.

3. They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.

(Book of Psalms Psalm 1 verse 3)

Oh God how I wish to remain like the tree with my roots planted in You. I pray for such a gift to never be separated from You due to my sins Amen.

4. The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. 5. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the conregation of the righteous; 6. for the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

(Book of Psalms Psalm 1 verses 4 to 5)

Oh God my Father I agree that although those who plan evil or use evil means by which to trap us appear to be successful, however, their ends will be bitter and unsuccessful for their actions are not according to Your will. On the other hand the actions of those who planted their roots in You even after their death their works remain known for they brought to an end the seed that You Yourself planted in them to flourish and bear much fruit.

Oh God my Father I would like to end my prayer on the first psalm with the following prayer:

Oh God my Father I pray that today we make the most important decision of our lives, that of placing our trust in You totally. Oh God we promise to shed our roots in the waters of the source of life instead of in the murky waters of the world Amen. Thank You Jesus for the Bible is like fertilizer that gives us that extra boost to continue enabling our growth Amen
